Change Log
The Change Log shows what was saved to your institution's records. Proposals that are still being reviewed are under Change Requests. When you submit or comment on a request, its values are not yet accepted.
Find a change
- Open Changes and switch to the Change Log.
- Search for the record or filter by record type.
- Read the entry. Open the linked record if you want to see the change in context.
If you are already in an object, a person or an exhibition, open History there.
Read an entry
| Information | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Entity and Entity type | Which entry was changed. |
| Field and Action | Which information or connection was edited. |
| Old state and New state | What was there before and what is there now. |
| Changed by | Who the change is attributed to. |
| Date and time | When the change was saved. |
Some entries have no old and new value, for example when a record was created or a connection was added. A missing value therefore does not mean that nothing was changed.
The log shows that something was changed. It does not show whether the change is correct. Check the source on the record. Resolve open questions with the responsible person before you change a value again.
Understand changes made by the Assistant
If the Assistant changed something, the entry names the Assistant and the person who gave it the task. If there is a link to the conversation, it can show the task and the sources the Assistant read. Conversations are private. Others see the change, but not the chat. Record important evidence on the record or in the change request.
If a task consists of several steps, the log can show steps that are already done even though the task is not finished yet.
Correct a wrong change
- Correct the information in the record. Record the source or the reason where the record provides for it. If someone needs to review the correction, create a change request.
- Check the current value. If the record appears in a published channel, also look at the view for visitors.
Not every change can simply be undone. A new connection, a newly created record and a text correction are different operations.
